The Music Store is looking for a piano teacher that lives in Cottonwood to give private lessons in store.

Ted Karstadt gives private lessons ideal for beginners and intermediate students of all ages. Ted originally wanted this store because he wanted a place where people could share his love for music, and take lessons. Ted has taught private lessons for the over 10 years, and guitar classes at local schools.
Lee Zimmer – Guitar, Bass, and Ukulele
Lee Zimmer was professor of guitar studies at both Cal Baptist and La Sierra Universities in Riverside, CA from 1990 through 2019 teaching private and class guitar, and guitar ensemble.
He was a founding instructor for the non-profit music program, “Kids Rock Free” at the Fender Center for the Performing Arts, starting in 1998. He became instrumental in developing the curriculum for guitar and bass studies, and for developing the rock band program.
Lee studied classical guitar extensively with Maestro Seiko Sesoko from 1978 through 1984. He also performed in several master classes with Manuel Barrueco, Sharon Isben, David Russell, Michael Newman, and Jorge Morel.
Lee’s background includes experience in classical, pop, rock, blues, and jazz styles.
Becky Bennett – Piano
Becky Bennett is accepting beginner thru intermediate students. She loves teaching and playing the piano and has many years experience as a teacher. Becky plays piano for the Verde Valley Nazarene Church and the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Anthony Lockard – Piano
Anthony Lockard has been playing the piano for over twenty years and loves to play and teach. After studying locally with Beverly Hall, Anthony developed a love for music and pursued piano performance with Dr. Frank Scott at NAU, as well as, masterclasses with Baldwin artist Wladimir Kochanski.
Tony Cook – Violin and Mandolin
Tony Cook is currently giving Mandolin and Violin lessons to students of all levels. He has lesson times available on Wednesdays at the Music Store.
Tony is an accomplished musician having performed with many talented artists including Mason Williams, Byron Berline, Leonard Rose and Itzhak Perlman.
He has a Bachelor of Music from NAU, and has studied with premiere teachers including Mary Lou Galen-student of Ivan Galamian at the Julliard Conservatory, and Daniel Mason-student of Jascha Heifetz at the Colburn School of Music.
Kevin McQuaid – Percussion and Cello
Kevin McQuaid is giving Cello, and Percussion lessons on Saturdays at the Music Store. He has performed in orchestras, theater musicals, and bands. Kevin attended Berklee School of Music in Boston. He has been a professional musician for more than 30yrs.
